Watch the video Changes in the Role of Teachers and Students in Digital Education.
In this video, we present a concise overview of the transformations brought about by modern education. We will explore how education is evolving and adapting to new challenges. Beginning with foundational concepts in pedagogy. Pedagogy is the science of upbringing and education. While didactics focuses on the theory of teaching and learning, examining the organization and implementation of the teaching process. Methodology applies didactic principles to the teaching of specific subject matter. Traditionally, teachers were the primary source of knowledge, conveying information to listeners and students in the classroom. However, modern education places students at the center encouraging their activity, collaboration, and creative thinking. The student's role is shifting from that of a passive recipient of information to an active participant in the learning process. Changes in teaching methods also redefine the roles of all participants in the educational process. Knowledge is now acquired through research and the development of critical thinking skills making education a partnership between teachers and students in a digital environment. Teachers become mentors who guide students in research and knowledge creation while students take responsibility for their learning by using various digital tools and resources to construct knowledge. What do I expect from education? Accessibility and flexibility are crucial. As a student in the digital age, I grew up with the internet apps and virtual knowledge networks. When I learn, I seek collaboration, exploration, and creation, what do I expect from teachers? Mentorship, the use of new technology and adaptability. My teachers are no longer just lecturers. They guide me through a sea of information helping me develop critical thinking and supporting my growth towards independent learning. How does the modern approach to education affect me? I'm evolving too. I no longer learn by rote. Instead, I construct my own knowledge. I'm motivated and collaborate with my peers to analyze information, question sources, and find solutions to real problems. Distance learning has evolved over centuries from correspondence courses to radio and television programs, and now to modern online platforms that are accessible to everyone. Today, teachers and students work together to shape education that is flexible, collaborative, and oriented towards creating new knowledge and competencies for the future.
