The goal of this e-course is to familiarise participants with the contemporary definition of the concepts of diversity and inclusiveness in the context of persons with disabilities, the learning and teaching styles of students with disabilities, and methods of adjustment in the teaching process. The course will showcase the possibilities of assistive technology in the learning, teaching, and assessment of students with disabilities, as well as the challenges students with disabilities face when using assistive technology. The topics covered by the e-course include: factors in achieving inclusiveness in teaching, reasonable accommodation and Universal Design (UD), types of adjustments in the teaching process with respect to the characteristics of developmental disorders, peer support, assistive technology, digital tools and digital accessibility in the learning, teaching and assessment of students with disabilities, challenges related to the needs and availability of assistive technology, support in realising the rights and needs of students with disabilities.
All activities take place online with the support of an instructor who acts as a moderator.
