Description
In this activity, you are required to design an instructional message for one of your existing digital teaching materials.

You may use the teaching material that you analysed in the task Analysis of a Digital Learning Material, or select another example of digital content from your own teaching practice.

An instructional message may be, for example:

  • an introduction to a video

  • text within a lesson

  • task instructions

  • a forum prompt

  • a message within the LMS

The aim of this task is to design a clear, concise, and focused instructional message that is aligned with the learning outcomes and adapted to the target group for whom the material is intended.

Instructions

Your assignment must include the following elements:

A brief description of the teaching material

  • type of material (e.g. video, presentation, forum)

  • topic of the material

  • context of use (e.g. course, target group, online or blended learning)

Linking the message to a learning outcome

State the specific learning outcome that the message supports.

Designing the instructional message

Write the instructional message (1–3 sentences or one short paragraph).

Short explanation

  • Who is the message intended for (e.g., first-year students, master's students)?

  • What is the purpose of the message within the teaching material?

  • Which message design principles did you apply (clarity, structure, tone, focus)?

If you are using content that is not your own, provide the source.

Submit your work using the provided template. Upload your assignment as a Word document or PDF through this activity.
