Peer assessment: A tool for the ethical and responsible use and sharing of teaching materials

In this activity, you will create a short practical guide, manual, or a simple checklist for the ethical and responsible use and sharing of digital teaching materials.

The aim of this assignment is to apply your knowledge of copyright, open licences, and ethics in digital education, and to design a useful tool that you can apply in your everyday practice or share with colleagues and students.

You may create the tool:

• in pairs or in groups,

• as a text, graphic manual, video, presentation, interactive checklist, or any other creative format.

Instructions

Your tool may include the following elements (recommended, not mandatory):

• name of the tool,

• purpose of the tool (why it is useful and for whom it is intended),

• key topics (e.g., copyright, open licences, how to correctly use and share content, AI-generated materials…),

• practical guidelines or steps (what to do or avoid in practice),

• examples or illustrations (not mandatory, but recommended for better understanding).

Be creative when designing your guide. You may use digital tools or combine different formats to make your guide as useful and visually appealing as possible.

Peer assessment

After submitting your assignment, you will participate in peer review of your colleagues’ work.

Your tasks are to:

• review at least one colleague’s work,

• analyse it according to the defined criteria,

• write constructive feedback (what is good and what could be improved).

The instructor will also review all submissions and provide additional comments.
