In this workshop, you will collaborate in pairs and use digital tools to create rubrics intended for evaluating a specific educational activity.
Form pairs based on the alphabetical order of your surnames. If the total number of participants is odd, the last pair will become a trio. In case of doubts or the need to change groups, use the forum in the introductory part of the course.
One member of the group may use an existing course in Moodle (e.g., Loomen, Merlin) for creating the assignment or may open a practice course.
The instructor monitors group work, provides guidance during the creation of rubrics, encourages dialogue among participants, and ensures that the created rubrics are aligned with the defined pedagogical purpose and learning outcomes.
Activity sequence:
Each pair/small group writes a draft of assessment criteria for a selected learning outcome and a specific assessment activity that evaluates that outcome (e.g., in a Google Doc).
After that, the assessment rubric is implemented in a Moodle Workshop and exported.
Each group then prepares a document that includes the learning outcome, the corresponding assessment activity, and the rubric exported from Moodle.
Submit the document in Moodle, in the Workshop activity.
Participants and instructors take part in peer assessment and provide feedback.
Assessment criteria:
- alignment of the learning outcome and the assessment activity
- appropriateness of the assessment criteria for the selected assessment activity
- appropriateness of the performance levels for the criteria and their definitions
