Openness in research refers to the removal of barriers to access data and research results, as well as the expansion of participation in research processes, thereby embracing the Open Science approach.
Open Science is an approach to scientific processes based on collaboration and new ways of disseminating scientific knowledge, using digital technologies and collaborative tools. It encompasses Open Access, Open Data, open research processes, and Open Science policies and tools.
Open Access refers to free online access to peer-reviewed scientific content with limited copyright and licensing restrictions.
Open Data refers to data that can be freely used, reused, and redistributed, subject only to the requirements of their open license.
