Scalability

Scalability refers to the degree to which the use of an LMS can be expanded to accommodate a growing number of e-courses, simultaneously connected users, while maintaining the same level of functionality and responsiveness. This is an important requirement for institutions that plan to grow their user base (or increase the number of users who will use the LMS relative to the entire population). Most HEIs need an LMS that is flexible enough to adapt to the growth and decline of the number of teachers and students actively using it at any given time.

Self-regulated learning

Self-regulated learning refers to the process in which students actively take responsibility for their own learning, planning, directing, and monitoring their activities. In this process, they gradually transform their cognitive abilities into concrete learning strategies and skills. Students who develop this ability demonstrate a high level of self-discipline and usually do not need external encouragement to work. Their main motivation comes from the internal satisfaction of the progress they have made and the success they have achieved in mastering the material.

Synchronous learning

Synchronous learning occurs when two or more people communicate in an educational context in real time. Synchronous learning can take place in a classroom where everyone is physically present, online live (in real time) via telephone, instant messaging with immediate responses, etc.
